Chapter U - U for Ubah; MBA Orientation and Class Start
- As i had decided the title for this week post; UBAH; it reminds me of another "BERSIH" call exactly 1 year ago. I still recalled vividly when everyone went to the "BERSIH" rally; I had to stuck with cleaning my new house before i could moved in last may.
- This time around, it had been 2 weeks since our GE13 had over. There's still many calls around the country for more rally to show their dissatisfaction, and urge for a cleaner and more transparency election in Malaysia.
- I guess many was upset at the matter of fact that UBAH didn't materialized as hoped. Many quarters are saying that there's many fraud by BN, and BN blaming for Chinese Tsunami for not been able to claim the 2/3 majority. Whatever said and done, the people had spoken and it is down to the government and opposition to read and interpret it.
- We hope for a more transparency government, less corruption, more efficient and answer to the needs of the people. A government which can further improve the living qualities of all Malaysians especially the hardcore poor.
- UBAH itself can be applicable to the very phase of my life now. Spinning the thoughts of further studying MBA for few years; act of searching, comparing and analyzing MBA courses offered by variety institute; some soul-searching of why i need MBA and what i am looking forward with that qualification; and finally here i am, officially a MBA student.
- Yesterday, 18/5/13 (SAT) was the orientation and the very first class of Business Ethics. Seniors and juniors came together in the class and it was really happening in the class with 40 strong people. The philosophy of morale and ethics really tested my English proficiency level. Simple sentences took me at least 2-3 times reading repeatedly to understand. At times i could not picture what the lecturer or my friend had said as they've been speaking too fast.
- Recalled my good old days in Form 6 and University days. Everyone was actually very concern on the subject. Buying reference book, speaking up in class, noting down important points; as most of the students had a very clear aim coming into MBA.
- Today is the second day attending classes titled Business Accounting and Finance. The lecturer was good in guiding us to have an aerial view and concept of the whole module. Although the classes drag from 9am in the morning till 5pm. With short breaks and lunch break in between, we are still doing alright. Afterall we are all working adult and we should be able to have more control over oneself.
- What i can foreseen is, there's still a very steep uphill climb. My aim is not to pass the exam only. I wish to gain the knowledge, broaden my horizon and perspective and experience new things in life; In order to do that, i really need to do a lot of homework. This is the first time in my life that, i thought that reading lecture notes before attending classes, revision again after the class and before the next class is of utmost importance. Never in Form 6 or University days that i thought that revision should be done from Day1.
- Guess that is really an UBAH for me this time on. Thank you for the support from my family and my friends. Really need these supports as this battle or this war will be a long hard fight.

2ND Week of May - Mother's Day
- After intense politicking the past two weeks, finally the atmosphere around changed to a more lovely, homely and sweet atmosphere. Suppose this week blog i would like to write about social harmony and peace we enjoyed in Malaysia; but seems like everyone should have a kit-kat moment now.
- Today on FB, many of my friends were sharing of the gift, photos, and celebration they had with their mom and family. It is a good day, for us to show our recognition and appreciation to our parents.
- Perhaps it also served as a reminder for us to always acknowledge and remember the sacrifices our parents had made for us. It is not only on this day that we show respect and love to our parents; but we have to make it into a life-time practice. With this only we can be a better person in life.
- Me too, i had not been doing enough for my parents; i am reluctant to express my love to my mom and dad; it felt very awkward.
- As i grew older, so is my mom and dad; many of my friend who had lost one of their beloved parent told me that, better cherish now if not regret later. I knew and truly understand about the uncertainty.
- The great things about human are the relationship, family ties, love between family members, spouse, friends, siblings, team members or even people who we never knew before. As easy as we can start and build the relationship and yet such relationship is fragile and easily disturbed. Our senses and priority must be pretty clear, that our priority is the relationship, and hence our action and thoughts must be on the constructive side but not destructive.
- We can never do enough to repay our parents; as we are growing older and now we understand more about the sacrifices they had made. A big solute to all Papa and Mama.
- By the way, i just took English Test last saturday, i felt really old school as i had bought pen and getting myself ready for the test, to my pleasant suprise it is an online test. Tell me how hilarious this can be? Haha
- Anyway, orientation and class will be starting next weekends. There's still mountain to climbs, in both work and life progress. Come On~
- In this Sunny Sunday, in conjunction with Mother's Day, let's pray that my parents my friend's Papa Mama always happy and healthy. Also, let all of us stand behind Malaysia, for a better tomorrow. We are Malaysian and We love our country.

That Day That Moment
- Perhaps it is one of the few very important decision that i make in my life. In this very chapter of my life is called Moving On~.
- Moving On~ What's next? What about my career ? What about my personal life? What about the future and life quality that i wish for all this while?
- One fine Saturday, it was 27th of April 2013. I gathered myself, and went to INTI International College Penang to sign up for MBA. Perhaps it will be a turning point; a stepping stone for me.
- I wish that by doing MBA, i will have much more input in my life. To gather more knowledge while harvesting from the experience of others MBA students. Other that making new friends, my perspective and thinking might be more overall, holistic. All in all, i wish to have some positive changes and input in my life now.
- Secondly, i wish MBA will be my stepping stone for future if i opt for changing career; changing career is not only means that changing from one company to another, but to change a total new field, field which i can not venture with the quality and experience that i have now.
- Sometime i do wonder about my ability to handle both work and studies at the same time; but i guess if this is a huge mountain to climb, that i have to really climb it to get to the nice scenery over the other side.
- I did share my decision with my family and a few friends which i thought was important for me as i am considering this as one of the important kind of decision in my life. For those who had encouraged me; i really thank them and be grateful for it.
- Well, that's about it; and i will be venturing into a new journey now. I wish that this journey will be a full-filling one; one that i am glad that i had taken it.

Juggling - Juggling ; Balancing - Balancing
- Things are getting more serious now, work load piling up; issues, questions, inquiries, requirements are coming from all corners and there's no hiding.
- Despite the hectic schedule, i still have that time to think about further studying in part-time mode. This is indeed quite surprising, even for myself. Guess this is really a wake up call i gave myself to buckle up; and i really wish to get this done.
- There are many new models this year as i am busy tendering earlier this year, and currently it is the trial period before the products can go for mass-production. For next week itself, we have four models having their respective trial. I think that this is the first time throughout my three years here; that we are facing such circumstances.
- Anyhow, we have to be ready and take this challenge up; if not, SONY will be hesitating to award us more project in the future. As usual, the blame game, and kicking football kind of working philosophy still playing in the factory especially by the manager himself. Nevertheless i try my best to handle whatever situation that i could, and try to remain professional.
- I felt that it was a real shame for our manager to be in such level with no accountability. The responsibility and duty for him to carry out his job, but not pushing to others and avoiding.
- Something important to note here is that, i find that perhaps i am facing with a mental disorder now. One moment i can be very angry with someone while discussing issue with them, and then seconds later, when customer calls, i can smile and throw some lame jokes to them, after that, resume with my work without any emotion, resume the work i am doing before i have the argument with my colleagues. I notice this kept on happening, as i have no time to indulge in the moment, like continuing to be angry with something, or been in a moment for too long; i need to move on to next thing, and next thing and next thing.
- As for my MBA, the course will commenced in early May for Inti and end May for Segi. Overall i felt that Inti is giving me the better experience, the thing is the MBA is offered by INTI itself, with only twin recognition of MA in Management Studies by University of HertfordShire. Well SEGI's MBA is by University of Sunderland. Of course the latter will be more recognizable. The thing is after 2 visits to SEGI, the experience is not that great in terms of environment mostly.
- INTI's MBA is new but it gave me an impression that the course are more energetic, with more exposure. Perhaps, i will choose INTI over SEGI despite the recognition issue.
- I am not too sure will MBA be too tough to handle in part time mode, but my conscience are clear, that i want to do it. Hopefully i will be enlighten, enjoy and felt fruitful throughout this MBA journey.
