KEMAN14-Kuala Kubu Baru

  1. KEMAN 14 was held last week, whereby the previous KEMAN 13 was two years ago. I recalled memories whereby a bunch of us from 10th College joined KEMAN12, i brought Brendon in together, it was 4 years ago. In KEMAN 13, i introduced to my friend Sharon and Yee Ching; and this year, i will not be introducing to anyone, just me joining with others this time.
  2. It was a golden opportunity for us to catch up with each other. As i am all the way up in Penang, it's very meaningful for me to gather with others through this camp. The feeling of joining a camp was special and it helps me recalled memories of many other camps which i had joined before in my university days.
  3. This time around, the no. of participants are lesser, around 32 person, nevertheless with much of respect, the quality of participants this time around are much better. They have no problem been involved in serious discussion in topics like Economics, Environmental Issues, Country relations, and also the unity among fellow Malaysians.
  4. The hottest topic for every KEMAN was always secular school vs vernacular school. Of course, i truly believed that, the way we interact with different races heavily dependent on our parents, our community and our education background. There were many ways to promote unity among different races but i guess by re-structuring the education system, the impact will be largest and the best.
  5. There were many problems behind all this transformation. As a Chinese, i would say the willingness of we Chinese to let go the vernacular Chinese School System is almost impossible. Same goes for Malay to let go their special privilege pledged under our Constitution.
  6. To gain something, we may have to loose something. People might argue that, Chinese will loose a lot, that same applies to other races. If the Chinese and Indian willingly to let go their secular schools, and the Malays willing to open UITM and Matriculation to every Malaysian, we might be able to build something from there. Again, as i was writing this statement, my guts somehow is.... this is just pure madness and impossible things to achieve.
  7. Very much to my surprise, around 30% of the undergraduates who joined KEMAN 14 felt that, they are willing to let-go the mother tongue education for the course of Malaysian Unity.
  8. Perhaps, the time will come whereby there's no need for any policies amendment, due to the Macro-environment factor, parents might prefer one from another, vernacular school been less favoured, the national school is transformed and been a better option. Perhaps, that time we can see a situation where all the children of our countries play under one roof, there's no more differences in skin colour, there's no more differences in me and you.
  9. Malaysia, our country and our home. We pray for the best for our country. Although realistically, the wildest dream will not come true, but that's the path where every Malaysians who loved the country should be pursuing.
